The Diploma of Paramedical Science is Nationally Recognised and sets the foundations for an exciting career in paramedicine. Once gained, employment can be found in a wide range of sectors including mining, oil and gas, events, overseas contracting, VIP security, patient transport, training, and throughout the private sector.

As a private medical company, we service a wide range of sectors across New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Western Australia. These sectors include paramedics/nurses for high-risk motorsport, mining, and private events.
Whilst studying this diploma, degree-qualified paramedics will assess your knowledge evidence and performance evidence, with industry experience in both the private and government based organisations.

This diploma has been specifically designed to have the knowledge evidence completed via distance mode of study. This enables students to continue with their current employment. The knowledge evidence is self-paced. Once the unit has been submitted for assessment and deemed competent, the next unit will be available for completion. The Diploma must be completed within 24 months from commencement. All units, placements, and practical assessments must be achieved in order for the diploma to be awarded. Students complete this course in 12 months on average.
The performance evidence is assessed over two, 6-day blocks and 160-hour placement through Emergency Australia or an approved provider. These 6-day blocks are intensive where we utilise the objective structured clinical examinations (OSCE) to ensure clinical competence. During these workshops, you will be trained and assessed on paramedical skill sets including airway management, stabilisation of trauma patients, interpreting electrocardiograms, drug administration and extraction of patients.
As part of the diploma, it is a government requirement that students complete 160 hours of placement under clinical supervision. This can be conducted with approved private or government medical companies in your local area. Students have the option of completing this course with Emergency Australia, or selecting an alternate approved provider their local area.
As Emergency Australian is a Registered Training Organisation 41448, this diploma will gain credits towards the Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic). The degree is required for those seeking employment with state ambulance services.
